Over 35 million Blue Cross and Blue Shield members will have top notch access to health and wellness discounts through the Blue365 program. This is a promising effort to encourage healthier living from customers by offering valuable discounts on products such as fitness gear, gym memberships, and healthy eating tools.
Blue365 deals are given through weekly offers in members’ emails with multiple savings offered from well-known companies such as Snap Fitness, eDiets.com, Reebok, H&R Block, and many more. The deals will also be available through the Blue365 website, but they are only for a limited time.
This unique program offers even more to their customers. Blue365 members can also earn $10 rewards to use towards deals by encouraging friends and family members to purchase a deal through Blue365. Social media will be an important part of this program as offers are shared through common social sites. The Federal Employee Program and 22 BCBS companies are currently participating in the Blue365 initiative, and more could be following.
Minnesota health insurer Medica and Provider Fairvew have joined forces to offer a low-cost individual health insurance plan called Harmony with Medica and Fairview.
The health plan will be available to Minnesota residents beginning April 1 — although this is no joke — and will feature premiums that are 10% less than a similar offering offered by Medica alone.
The plan is essentially a Fairview-only health plan. It is available within a suite of products offered by Medica on its MyMedica platform. MyMedica is essentially a private insurance exchange where customers can shop for Medica insurance products.
Does anyone else think the name of the health plan is a little long and clunky? It might have been a good idea to engage some branding consultants here. The simple name Harmony would have worked nicely in my opinion
